Article 1
In order to formulate continuing education courses for surgical medicine and the recognition of continuing education points for surgical specialists, the Taiwan Surgical Association of Surgery has specially established the "Taiwan Surgical Association Education Committee" (hereinafter referred to as the Committee).
Article 2
The committee has one Director who is appointed by the Chairman. The term of office is the same as that of the supervisors. He is responsible for handling the business of the committee, implementing the relevant resolutions of the committee and the supervisory committee, and attending the supervisory committee to report on the relevant affairs of the committee. Resolutions on membership rights and the formulation and revision of continuing education points in the principles of selection of surgical specialists must be submitted to the Board of Supervisors for approval.
Article 3
The committee shall have several members and one director general, who shall be recommended by the chairman and appointed after the approval of the chairman for a term of two years.
Article 4
Member qualifications: Served as an attending physician for more than ten years (inclusive) or as a lecturer (inclusive) prescribed by the Ministry of Education.
Article 5
Tasks of the Committee:
- Formulate and revise the method for the determination of continuing education points for surgical specialists and the method for evaluation of effectiveness.
- Review the continuing education points of the surgical specialist and handle the extension (replacement) of the surgical specialist certificate.
- Approval of application points for academic activities held by other relevant units or medical associations.
- To conduct education and training courses for surgical residents.
Article 6
The committee also employs the convener of the local monthly meeting in each district. The 11 districts are: North District, Keelung District, Taoyuan District (new in 1996), Zhumiao District, Central District, Jiayun District, Tainan District, Gaoping District, Hualien District, Lanyang District and Taitung District, the term of office is one year. When the convener of each district is vacant or there are more than one candidate, the committee will coordinate the teaching hospital in the district and obtain the approval of the chairman.
Article 7
The convener of the local monthly meeting is responsible for the arrangement of the local monthly meeting in the district, and coordinating the matters related to the addition or withdrawal of the monthly meeting of the teaching hospital in the district nearby, so as to regularly handle the academic activities of the local monthly meeting.
Article 8
The committee meets at least once a year, convened by the chairman, and if necessary, it may hold an ad hoc meeting or discuss by means of communication to reach a consensus.
Article 9
According to the provisions of Article 25 of the Articles of Association of the Association, these Guidelines shall be implemented after being drafted and approved by the Council, and the same shall apply to changes.
